    NoTillPhil's 2018 Backyard Tree Mission

Hoppers are back minutes after I spray neem, don't think it bothers them. Maybe slow kill but doesn't help the situation. I grabbed some poly netting fabric from wal mart. Should keep the hoppers out and provide a little shade.

Grasshoppers ands mites are giving me trouble. Finally have some cooler weather ands rain coming which will help with the hoppers. The plants could use a break from 90+ to I'm sure. I have some insect cloth on the way and have been dusting with DE. Hit them with neem shower a couple times...

Local store had Rhino Skin with an analysis of .4% potash and .15% potassium silicate. Sound close? This was geared towards hydro.

What product are you using to provide silica? Is it currently in the mix or water? Those ladies look thrilled about their mama's treatment. Hot as hell for the last week here. I can't even tend to them during the day.

    Help..topping outdoors

If bushes is what your after, just keep right on topping the tallest points every week or two until a couple weeks before flower. Then clean out the inside of all the shoots that didn't push their way out and let her rip.

New cage soon, wanted to share the unobstructed view. Just got done gutting her so she's looking a little thin. She is just under 70" wide now. I'm pretty stoked on her when I consider my planned planting date was 7 days ago.

    Pistils browning WAY too early

A good windy day or heavy abusive rain will maul some hairs in my experience. Indoors, I'd guess pollination.

I thought yesterday may have been first day of real burst on my biggest and I'm happy to say today I'm sure. Also think the deficiency is subsiding. Newest tips are no longer purple stemmed and overall perk is looking better. Hopefully with some luck, they just starved themselves a little while...

    NoTillPhil's 2018 Backyard Tree Mission

Yeah, they were outside intermittently for most of their life and maybe a week in the shade before transplant. We are at almost 6000 ft elevation with dry hot weather, I'm guessing that is why. Also the current leaves from indoor growth are likely adapted to less usuable light. Back east there...

    NoTillPhil's 2018 Backyard Tree Mission

Meh, my big girls are stalling hard right now. They hated the intense morning sun, so I 've been providing shade then. About 9-12. I'm also a bit concerned that the soil I've worked all those months is locking out calcium. Have some lower leaves with rust spots showing and purple stems at the...

What's the interest in growing with retail store LED bulbs?

Personally I think you could make it pay off if you brought the extra 200 watts down the sides and used them to increase canopy depth.

Had some winds right off the bat and still need proper caging. The smaller starts mostly put down roots over the first week, but stalks have fattened and I'm sure they will start to burst soon.
