    Viviosun 315

This thread is pretty old but as a small update I went ahead and went with the BLI 315 cmh. To see what’s up I replaced 6 1000w with 15 of the 315’s. Plants have been in the room for a week or so and ha e recovered from the transplant. So far I am stoked on what I am seeing but time will tell. [

Trying to start grow in garage.

Lots of things to consider. How are you going to maintain your environment is the first in my mind and will make the difference in quality, yield, and issues like bugs and pm. The best lights for yield and quality is 1000w de. But you need a lot of ac to handle the heat load. And your ceilings...

Trying to start grow in garage.

Typical 2 car garage built with de hps should be putting out a min 12-15 lbs. I would do three rows of 4 lights with roller tables. It will cost some to setup but you should recoup your expenses on the first run Your amps should be enough to cover all the needed equipment

POLL - What type of flowering lights are you running?

I have a couple Gravitas that I like very much and then a couple digitals and some magnetics. Both of the single ended hps models are going to get replaced once I can navigate all the new info on lights and make a choice.

First time grower lookin for some much needed wisdom.

My first suggestion would be they need more light. I am not an led guy so I can’t give any direction on what you currently running or what to upgrade to in the led realm. I can say if I had a hps in that space I would be looking for at least an lb of tops.

Is it too late to lollipop 2 weeks into flowering?

I grow my plants to about 2ft before I flip and any branch I don’t remove completely is stripped at least 6-12 niches from the main stem.

    Carbon Filter quality improving??

I haven’t used a phresh filter actually. I use the can filter and the mountain air. Both are pretty good brands

Help with choosing reflector ballast combo.

I am a hps guy and I used to only run phantoms and blockbusters. I had a ton of amazing rounds running single ended hps and it took forever to start switching over to de Gravita’s. I have noticed a increase under the de gravitas but they are hot and need high ceilings. If you are able to manage...

    Carbon Filter quality improving??

I am not sure about that. I do know the cubic feet per minute changes between scrub or exhaust by about half. I base everything on how much I want the air in the space to be scrubbed all filters and fans have a cubic foot per minute rating. I like to scrub the air twice a minute

    Carbon Filter quality improving??

What the heck is everyone growing? I run the big can filter on a 12” fan to exhaust and the medium one with 8” wide open and still get hassled all the time for smelling like herb at work. Maybe it just because I have been at this since long before legalization but Oder control is right at the...

    Carbon Filter quality improving??

The folks who gave the high ratings to the off brand are probably all in jail and not able to amend their reviews.

    Shaking weed to trim it?

I used to bring in trimmers but a year or two ago an older couple who lived just down the mountain was murdered by the “dumb ass whiteboy” they hired to help them trim. He was some 19 year old douchbag that finished the day trimming them came back that night and killed them as well as their...

    Shaking weed to trim it?

haha ya I did. I am getting ready to run a way better looking round through some bags this weekend. To be honest, it’s always best to hand trim. But if it’s going to take a ton of hours to get it done or you have to bring over trimmers, these are the best option

    Drip emitters vs open flow

I used manifolds and hard lines when I was running rock wool and was super worried about each plant site getting an equal amount of feed. Loved them and have thought about switching back.
