I'd lst. I feel like you can lst and offer barely any light and the plant doesn't necessarily stretch - just grows super slow. But who cares if it grows super slow under a few CFLs when it's still going out fairly early in the season (fingers crossed).

Screw garbage bags. Your local hardware store should carry clear plastic sheeting in 10x20, 10x50, 10x100, 20x50, 20x100, and 20x150' rolls.. It comes in different thicknesses and is cheaper than garbage bags by the foot.

Of course! I always buy 4+ at a time even when I don't need em because I know eventually they'll come in handy for something. My last 3 got turned into fish tank lights. All four of these are destined for my veg cab but I'd put money on at least one being used for something else within two...

Veg lights came in today :) And they are quite a bit nicer than the last cheap ass vanity lights I purchased. Actual reflective finish to a degree and ceramic outer socket versus plastic. $4 each.

The sun... Unless it's completely the wrong season (in which case the beans wont grow at all and it's a bs comparison), you cannot compete with the sun. Hydro veggie farms are all outdoor greenhouses, sometimes with supplemental lighting also, but they always use the sun. It's not a cost...
