Not the cheapest, but for indoor I like the Fox Farm trio (Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom) and CalMag in soil. Outdoors, I just amend the soil with bone and blood meal, and some earthworm castings.

Yes You could even set it outside on sunny days and under the t5s at night and on rainy days

I haven't had any problems, that's what all modern ballasts are. They're better than the old magnetic types and don't get as hot.

The cheaper kits have an open reflector, the ones that are like $20 more have a sealed/vented reflector. Those can be better if you're going to run exhaust

Yeah, you can just run the exhaust from the reflector up and out like that if you want to. You could add a carbon filter later no problem if you need to. HIDs are good lights to grow with, that one has both MH and HPS bulbs so you can even use the cycle-appropriate ones if you want to I only...
