Humidity is fine, maybe you need a fan to help cool grow room with all lights on, better than turning off lights.

Must be some small variety of plant cause none of mine would fit in a 1x1 grow area. Mylar surrounding the area will help a lot as will pie pan reflectors. I would add a couple more bulbs if possible.

Was tyhe fridge outside in the 100+ and stayed cool enough to grow or do you have some cooling? Im just test running mine, I have fridge for cooling and have it wired to a thermostat. It is like 62 in my garage where the fridge is and with about 200 actual watts of fluorescent it is getting over...

T5's are more efficient than T8's but more expensive. They work fine for grow lights. Also you can buy the plant grow lights for them which dont really exist for cfl spirals. CFL spirals work just fine and are the least expensive. I like the CFL's because you can puit the light where you want it...
