You can make up for the difference in yield by adding more plants and there is no evidence to support hydro plants being more potent than soil plants. I'm a hydro grower and I know they grow more vigorously, but the taste difference may be very substantial. The jury's out right now for me.

The FFOF is pretty hot, it should take at least 3-4 weeks before the FFOF is depleted at all. I'm not sure of the N-P-K of that soil but how long into flowering it lasts depends on how soon after you put it in the soil you start flowering.
