    Lighting & Lumens

ok - my opinion. First I have to agree with Babygro on his opinion. I invested in my 200W envirolite for my small grow and it's giving me the results i was hoping for. I invested in this light because of certain issues like running costs and also the cost to set up as well as other hazards...

    Lighting Question

i have noticed a difference as my grow area is very small but i also keep my lights 24/24 as i am in england and growing in a cold garage so keeping these lights on 24/24 also helps with the temperature in my grow room. It should see them through the cold spells and into spring which will be...

    Envirolite compact flourescent

I have an envirolite myself, only a 200 Watter but in a small area big enough for two plants it's doing the job perfectly. It is as Toke said self ballasted meaning you buy the whole kit. The one that I bought contained a large 200W envirolite bulb and a reflector and ballast (bulb holder)...

    The green in the closet

yep 8 in the morning i turn them 180° let them have light for 12 hours and turn 180° again.... because my lights are on 24 hours, i just like to emulate the sun reaching the entire plant... if for any reason there are leaves in shadow, then there is a good chance that turning 180° will...

    Plant Problem

I've not added any nutes since my first fertiliser burn and i'm guessing that my soil contains just the right amount for my plants at this time so laying off has helped achive some good results so far. I'm gonna keep my eye on them and may well have to invest a little more time and money on the...

    The green in the closet

hey dude. me again. A piece of advice which I guess you've just learnt... never rely on the ph of your water being the same everytime. I test ph and moisture levels of my plants every night and in 3 places around each plant for consistency. I leave my wands in for about a minute for an...

    Plant Problem

what's the problem? i've managed to keep my soil and water around 6.8 to 7... ive used a small amount of vinegar mixed with the water to reduce when ph has climbed... this is an edited post... just noriced your shot of ph decreaser so i guess you use that. whats the ph problem? It really is...

    Plant Problem

I've never used 20-20-20 and wouldn't advise using that if you are at vegetation stage. Make sure you use a nutrient that is much higher in Nitrogen as vegetation will benefit from a high nitrogen fertiliser. I'll double check mine later on and give you the breakdown but i think it's probably...

    My Very First Grow

hi all. these new pics are of (a) my larger plant (in the foreground) which stands now 8 inches tall and is nice and compact in my opinion. There are plenty of new shoots underneath all the larger leaves which i'm hoping will help develop a greater yield. I started germinating this plant on...

    Plant Problem

nutes, anything decent with high nitrogen mix. dude, im wondering, maybe someone else could give you better advice but is there a chance these plants may have been severely overwatered and the roots are rotting?

    Plant Problem

my hunch would be, trust your moisture meter. If it's moist, don't add any more water... could be they've been overwatered... let them dry out properly before you feed them water again. If your soil was high in Nitrogen, then adding nutes is only gonna burn them but it looks as though you...

    slow grow

what's your soil mix dude? make sure you get a good soil mix relatively high in nitrogen and mix in some perlite and vermiculite. My plants improved no end after experimenting with the soil mix.

    Germinating

    1. get 2 saucers... 4 pieces of kitchen towel. 2. place 2 kitchen towels onto saucer. 3. drip distilled water on them until a nice big moist patch in centre of towel, it really doesn't matter if the entire towel is moist. 4. Place seeds onto paper towel. 5. Cover with 2 pieces of...

    Germinating

... there are i guess many safe ways to do it, some people wait until the seedling is established, me, i think i play it safe by getting them straight under light... not sure. Maybe I'm playing it dangerously but it worked for me anyway! best of luck though!
