    Few questions about Hydro.

Organics film up the buckets and air stones and leave heavy residuals in the root mass. I'm pulling well over 500 grams per plant un 1000's with CX synthetics.

They'll call you a liar, they'll say you're crazy! DWC

Start off in 3 gallon buckets and gradually move them to 6's and even 12 gallon buckets depending on the root mass. Flower is done in 25 gallon marine coolers cut to accept the net pot and air lines. (access to the water/nutes/roots/stones through the pop can door on the cooler) Running CX...

Had that problem once awhile back and it seemed to jump from plant to plant even had it show up in the ez-cloner. Flushed with H2o2 for a couple of days and cleaned all of our buckets and it hasn't returned. It's one of the reasons we use new stones and lines and replace them as they get...

This one got so out of hand we had to add another level of scrogg like support. In the last week of flush right now. Probably running close to 2 lbs on this one

    half soil grow half dwc

Why not just go soil with a top feeder set on a timer ? A few days of timing the feed drip to the right soil moisture levels and the time between needed feedings should give you what you need to set a timer for a week. Just keep stones running in your res.

    half soil grow half dwc

Careful, the soil will absorb the nutes and rot your roots since they will not be getting any airflow.

Quick question about choosing an appropriate air pump relative to pot volume

3 gallon bucket =4 stones ( 4 permanent net stones - 2 small rounds 2 large rounds which are included in the counts below.) 6 gallon bucket= 6 stones (2 in the pot and 4 in the solution) 8 to 12 gallon bucket= 7 to 8 stones depending on the root mass. A larger root mass would get 7/smaller 8...

Using a lot of ph up

I switched to a concentrated ph up and down and it made a big difference. They do not break down like regular up's and downs.

They'll call you a liar, they'll say you're crazy! DWC

Every net pot starts off with 4 stones. 2 small rounds in the bottom of the pot and two large hanging just below the bottom of the pot . I change buckets according to root mass and add stones accordingly but the 4 in the net pot are with it through the plants life. By the time the plant hits the...

No. The power usage/costs v.s. the additional yield just doesn't add up.

They'll call you a liar, they'll say you're crazy! DWC

Damage to the plant sends the plant into self preservation mode, rooting and repair. This is one of the reasons they say not to trim a plant too much in flower. The plants energy becomes split between flower and repair/rooting taking away from the flower production. This is usually a...

The only Advanced we've ever used is their ph up and down concentrates. I trim leave tips and shape the plants a lot in veg which adds to our root mass regardless of strain or nutes. An old habit from growing in soil I've yet to break.

CX hydro line with a water/nute change once a week. We have played with others but nothing has worked as well as CX. We have a test run with Humboldt's new hydro line and so far it's doing well, just not seeing the same results as we get with CX.

Quick question about choosing an appropriate air pump relative to pot volume

Thank you. I run 4 stones for each net pot. I put two small stones at the bottom of the basket and run another 2 large stones that hang a few inches below the basket. A zip tie in the lines to the basket holds them in place. They have been consumed by the roots in the above pic but you can...

Quick question about choosing an appropriate air pump relative to pot volume

I use an Air7 and run 2 small rounds in the net pot and 10 large rounds in a 25 gallon cooler and have always had great results. I use the same pumps in my 6 gallon buckets with 2 small in the net pot rounds and 4 large rounds in the bucket in veg and this is what my veg looks like going into...
