In my experience, some strains get the hay smell between dry and cure, and some dont. you dont notice the hay smell as much in flowers that have a higher terpene count... i.e. MD x Cougar... also depends on your flower to leaf ratio, airy buds that have a lot of trim and sugar leaves mixed...
