Getting worried. Please help my newbness! stunted growth, yellowing, spots! pics!

second problem with pre-nuted miracle grow - flushing does not get rid of excess nutes, it activates the time release nutes that are there. you're kinda screwed.

misinterpretation of co2 guidelines. if you are running a completely optimized system then the plant can use extra co2 and higher temp to get superior growth. uncontrolled additional co2 in non-optimized conditions plus higher temps will stunt the growth of your plants. watts divided by 1000...

great job. and theRuiner -think about using backdraft preventers at your y junctions to keep a strong fan from overcoming the design and pushing air the wrong way. you can probably even use a t junction if you have backdraft protection.

Getting worried. Please help my newbness! stunted growth, yellowing, spots! pics!

they're not looking that bad. the challenge with using miracle grow is that it is pre-fertilized and can be too strong, especially for young plants. also, when watering, always water until there's some runoff, then wait until the soil is dry a couple of inches down.

    Basement setup

you will need fans to pull air in and suck air out of the vents in the box. as for ventilating the basement itself it depends on how well ventilated your basement is now. the only way to tell is to go ahead and try - if your temps get too high in the basement then you'll need to add an exhaust.

6' Carbon filter and Portable AC issue

in a two hose a/c one hose is for incoming air to cool the compressor and the other hose is for the exhaust from the compressor. one closed loop. then air from the room is drawn in from grills on the unit and that air is cooled by the compressor and passed back out the front of the unit. second...

but, so you don't have to wait: DO NOT USE THE HOSES THAT COME WITH A PORTABLE A/C - especially the exhaust - go to home depot and buy insulated 6" ducting - the amount of radiant heat coming from the hose is greater than the ability of the a/c to cool.

lots of d-i-y co2 options, sugar and yeast being a popular one. my personal opinion is that for most people and for most methods enhancing co2 has little impact on your grow. first, in most non-commercial indoor grows the plants are getting just as much co2 as outdoor plants. so the only...

    DR100 Ventilation questions

what you want to think about is that any air that doesn't make it to the filter is going to stink. if the filter is outside the tent at the end of the loop then any air that leaks from the ventilation will smell as will all of the air in the tent. that's a lot of places to worry about leaks...

    DR100 Ventilation questions

i go away for one day and all the problems are solved. gotta try that in real life to see if it works. anyway, a couple of thoughts. 1. if your a/c is a single hose portable then you need to be aware that it is using inside air to cool its compressor and then sends that air out the exhaust -...

6' Carbon filter and Portable AC issue

you do not want to run your system the way you describe because one hose a/c's take inside air and use half of it to cool the compressor and then send it out the exhaust - and that air will not have been treated by your carbon filter. you want to use either a two hose portable a/c or as said...

    Ventilation questions.

depends on the size of your attic. but you're right it would be best to vent through the attic to the outdoors but that might not be practical. depends completely on temps. 200 cfm is plenty to bring in fresh air but it can take up to two air exchanges a minute to cool a room (that would be...

    Putting together grow room, Advice?

i'm trying to tell you the answer depends totally on what you want to accomplish and what you have to work with. you can grow a small strain that never gets wider than one square foot or you could grow a larger type of plant and train it with lst, fimming or topping and end up with a plant that...

the light fixture is a good place to start. you can at least remove that and get a look at what's above your ceiling. and if you can vent to the attic you're good because all attics have their own airflow to the outdoors. depending on how handy you are, it's pretty easy to create your own grow...
