    More LED Grow Journals/Experiences?

Spot on. There are some very successful organic LED growers, but in my (admittedly limited) experience, hydro is more forgiving.

Maybe so, but it doesn't hurt me to help, so no worries, man.

    More LED Grow Journals/Experiences?

As long as you're checking Instagram, you might want to take a look at some of the LED manufacturers' pages. They repost a lot of their customers' grows - so you don't have to hunt as much for good content. https://instagram.com/fgi_lighting?igshid=1f7i28ojb0zcm...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I applaud you on overcoming your OCD for the sake of pragmatism! I should probably do that more often.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Rad. 4x4? Man, I'm just way too OCD about symmetry to use those four-cables-to-one-carabiner hanger thingies (that's my highly technical description). I can see the upsides, but if they weren't hanging perfectly square it would irritate the piss out of me. Anyway, congrats on the new lights!

Aussie High Lights – we're official

While we're on the subject of heat degrading LEDs, I'll throw in my unsolicited pitch for actually using the dimmer. Many here like to crank it and then simply adjust the height of the fixture, but that really isn't the most prudent (or efficient) approach. Peeps get excited about cutting-edge...

Same. I just don't look at the diodes.

Either way, he'll be off to a good start, running some HLG goodness!

    DIY with Quantum Boards

This is also an excellent idea! And it means you still have light for the plants if one board goes out (not something that's likely to happen, but insurance is always nice to have).

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Just one board for a 2x2, brother! My recommendations were for the larger spaces. And yes, if you can afford the R spec, go for it! Here's the driver for just one board (v1 or R spec)...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

Ahh, I see. Yes, 3000k is a very suitable spectrum for full cycle, seed-to-harvest growing. I veg under 3000k myself, and have always been very happy.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

You could definitely light a 5x5 for under $600 if you're ready to DIY. Six of the v1 QB288 boards in 3000k (with Slate 2 heatsinks from HLG), three Meanwell HLG-240H-C2100 drivers (or three HLG-320H-54 if you want to be able to push the boards to the limit), and some aluminum channel, screws...

    DIY with Quantum Boards

I'd like to see a spectrum comparison between the 3000k Luxeon 2835s and the 3000k LM561Cs. They should be quite close, but I have also noticed that the new v1 3000k boards seem warmer - at least to the naked eye.

    DIY with Quantum Boards

If you're willing to DIY, you can get more for less. Either way, an HLG300 is way more light than you need in a 2x2; it's more suited to a 3x3. What's your max budget for lighting?

Surprised to see Hlg slumming it.

Color me intrigued! New product from HLG is always exciting. On another note - a few of us have been wondering if the new 2835 v1 boards are a temporary product or if you guys plan to make and sell them long-term?

    LM301B V2 : 3500k mix 660nm UV vs 3500k mix 660nm?

Oh, and I can't see you using 120w in that space anyway. I'd be looking for 80-100 watts, max - unless you expect to upsize your space in the future, and want a light that can handle it.

    LM301B V2 : 3500k mix 660nm UV vs 3500k mix 660nm?

Yes, you could run two boards, at 60w each, on a 120w driver. But honestly, with only 3 feet of headroom, I wouldn't be looking at boards unless they're low diode-density boards like HLG's QB120/QB132. Strips are really your best bet though. Not sure what kind of strip options there are on...
