yes i agree about the heat, or perhaps a deficiency of potassium so that the leaves are less able to cope with even moderate heat and burn up

those leaves suggest leaf fungus which would explain why it looks more sporadic , generally nutrient deficiency is uniformly spread through sections of the plant , depending on the stage of deficiency .
