    First Grow! : CFL/HPS 8 Plants

I don't think it would hurt to try them. I wouldn't assume you would get the maximum results anyway, unless your room is completely sealed. Do you ever have any windows open at your place? If so, your getting some fresh air in there. It's hard to create a natural environment indoors without...

    First Grow, T5, Northern Lights

Even if they are small burns they might be causing stress, which might cause them to herm even if they are female. I know you said you want seeds but if you let all your plants get pollinated you'll be picking out seeds forever. And as far as 12/12 all the way... I'm not sure that's a good...

    First Grow! : CFL/HPS 8 Plants

I think he meant just the tubes, but I'm not sure. I have my air conditioner running and I think it brings in pretty much a normal amout of CO2 and I think my CFL's handle it OK. I didn't see anything about when to use it....but I've been kind of skipping around in the book so I ain't sayin'...

I have the book MARIJUANA Horticulture The Indoor/Outdoor MEDICAL Grower's Bible by Jorge Cervantes and I wanted to quote some it for yous guys... "Adding more CO2 to grow room air stimulates...

Harvest now OR wait til later?

I agree with Reiss. If you let them go too far (get too dark), they start to decrease in THC and deteriorate. I do mine when there mostly cloudy, with a few still clear and a little bit of amber color. Like he said though (I'm assuming he, no offense), it depends what kind of high you're...

Hey spont, I know exactly where that is. It's actually in Burlington Wisconsin. I have camped there a few times. Have you been there, or do you just know? I used to live all around that area. Sorry tdubya, I know I'm totally having a convo on your thread. I just think it's cool that someone...

    First Grow, T5, Northern Lights

That's what I do, every other watering. I started out 1/4 strength when mine were 3 weeks old. Now they're 4 1/2 weeks and I'm using 1/2 strength, but I've got LR2's going and they don't like too many nutrients. You just have try it, and then watch how they react.

Looks good so far. Is your 400 in a homebox also? What seed company are your NL's from? I have some from Nirvana that I haven't started yet due to a current grow, but I can't wait to. How long are you going to let them veg?

    first time...need advice

Look into T5's. Like I said, the Sunblaze setups are pretty good and don't use much electricity. Mine uses 96 watts, which is great considering most ceiling fixtures use two incandescent bulbs that run 60 watts each. As canna said, you're going to have to spend a little money up front but...

    first time...need advice

I think they pretty much covered it. Good post Canna. Otter, I use the sunblaze 24"-4 bulb-T5 setup that produces 8000 lumens and uses 96 watts of power. I love it. For side lighting I use 23 watt cfl's mostly 2700K's with a few 6500K's. These give you 1600 lumens each. I only use all of...

    preflowers?

Only time will tell, you'll just have to wait and see. Are you going to change the light schedule soon? You could find out if you do that. Obviously none of us can tell without a photo though.

    How of often do YOU...

Different strains like different amounts of nutrients. What do you have going? For example, I have LR2's going and they don't like as much as some others so I feed 1/2 of what's recommended once every 6 days and straight water in between.

    First Grow, T5, Northern Lights

You should be starting the grow big, not the bloom. The bloom is for flowering. Since you haven't fed them yet it might be a deficiency starting. I would maybe start out doing half of what's recommended for the first feeding, just to see how they react. Are you going to use nutes every time...

Does it hurt the plants to leave the fan always on?

I too leave mine on all the time, on medium, with every grow. As others said, it makes the plant sronger, thicker stem, and it also helps keep flying bugs off them (not completely, but helps).
