    The Hempy Collective

I start my seedlings in peat moss, then transfer to the HB. I would recommend you grow your mom in soil (much easier and stable) and take cuttings and clone in HB. That's what I do. Good luck.

How much perlite to admend pro mix BX

Adding perlite won't hurt your plants - it is an inert substance. I have grown in almost pure perlite (I mixed with vermiculite). When I do a soil grow, I usually go with a ratio of 5-1-1, soil-perlite-vermiculite. If you do add more perlite than soil, you need to add nutes earlier than if you...

    The Hempy Collective

Glad to see someone else is using the hempy bucket method. I'm currently on my 3rd grow using this method. My "buckets" are old plastic 1 gallon coffee containers. I've posted a couple pics of the girl I have going right now. She's almost ready - trichs are 30% amber 60% cloudy and 10% clear...

For All The Floridians Out There......

I checked in earlier but it's been a while since I've posted. Palm Beach over here. Lived in My-Hami for about 20 years and moved up here 3 years ago. Currently have some Cali Kush and Bubblegum going.

For All The Floridians Out There......

We're lucky. We have the hook-up now. It requires us driving from WPB to Miami, though but we get the best shit. $125 for 1/4.

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Final update: I chopped the budding clone earlier this week after most trichs were amber. Dried it for 2 days and it's now in a jar. The new generation is already up and going. That will be the new journal.

    Less Than Their Best Potency

Did you get your seeds from a legit source? Could just be crappy genes from crappy seeds.

    Spider mites and cold....

Hey FF, once you get those mites during harvest, it's a pain in the ass to get rid of them. My last harvest, I left town for 6 days and when I got back, all my girls were badly infested. Sucked. Anyway, I took drastic measures - a few days before harvest, I covered the soil and then soaked the...

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Well, much to report. My 2 EM seedlings met with an untimely demise due to my stupid little pug. He trampled all over them and killed them. I have the 2 MKs going and I decided to plant some of my excellent bag seeds I've been accumulating all year. I chopped down the last mom over weeks ago and...

    Nirvana Seeds : Thumbs Down!

I've been holding my tongue or fingers anyway but I've been very unhappy with my Nirvana experience from beginning to end. After a delay of 2 months without so much as a courtesy response from them, I finally got my order. I ordered Master Kush and Early Misty. Of the 5 EMs I tried to...

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Thanks Mad and goodluck to you too. I've enjoyed my grows, even with the frustrations. Blaze, I typically water my plants every 2 or 3 days. From experience, I pretty much know that 1g will water about 4 1g pots. Usually I will prepare about 1.5 g, just in case. Ok update time and much to...

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Chopped down MK1 on Saturday. Wasn't quite ready, trichs were cloudy, but the spider mites were just out of control. I've managed to keep them at bay on the other 2 former moms (MK2 and EM) and 3 clones. I'm hoping to harvest MK2 and EM within the next week or so and the clones a couple of weeks...

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Khola, I am really not qualified to give you an opinion as I've never done self-watering. I manually water my plants. I did see a self-watering system in a recent in-flight magazine that looked really good, though and it was fairly inexpensive. Whatever you decide, I would urge you to still...

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Low Stress Training (LST). Allows more light to reach deeper into the plant. More light to lower part of the plant = more compact mature buds and not wispy waste-of-time buds. Quick update: watered the ladies Monday (9/3) with cocktail of 1g water, 2 tbs TB, 1 tsp BB, 2 tbs molasses, 1/4 tsp...

Nirvana Master Kush 5 Weeks Into Veg.. Now Flowering

Hey Jessie. You should never cut your fan leaves if you can help it. Think of those big fan leaves as the solar panels of the plant. They capture and convert sunlight. If you remove those, you hinder the plant's ability to continue to effectively convert solar energy and continue growing. The...

Grow: The next generation. Early Misty and Master Kush!

Thanks Jude. Update: Watered the moms today with same solution from yesterday. I think the heat is taking a toll. Lots of dried, burnt leaves. Here are some updated pics of the moms and clones. You can clearly see the LST on the moms. Also tried to get some bud shots but the lighting is effed...

    Sativa

A pure sativa would be heaven to grow but for most of us, we don't have the space and privacy. I'd look into a hybrid with a predominantly sativa phenotype. Satori looks like a great candidate. Was it KP or BG who recommended this to me? Can't remember now but thanks. That's my next purchase.

    Sativa

Key was the 5th internode. Most growers accept this as a good early point to begin flowering, even though you can flower at any time. There're 2 camps on the issue of lower potency due to early flowering. There are those who believe once the plant reaches that 5th node, you won't necessarily...
