Id like to remove the lower third foliage from my vegging plants because its getting very bushy in that space Id also like to use the cuttings as clones thus eliminating the need for a mother plant. Can the vegging plants suffer any form of shock?

Did you clean the bulb before switching it on? The grease from your fingers can cause the bulb to blow sometimes.

Any idea what caused the bulb to blow?

Since I began this thread I managed to figure out how it works but thanks for your words.

I use all Biobizz nutes & soils with no addition of additives. Yep I calibrated the PH pen & same results. Ill try PHing the water going in @ 6.0 & see what happens. Thanks mr.smileyface

All my plants are in Biobizz allmix soil & the issue is that the PH always seems to increase after a week. The water going in is PHed at 6.5 & when I water again a week later the runoff is at 7.5PH. What can I do or add to stabilize the PH within the soil?

I have 2 questions: First question: How do I calculate the maximum number of fans I can attach to one power adaptor? Second question: The below pic shows how to connect one ballast to a relay which controls 2 x bulbs & switches them on/off at any one time. But what are the EARTH wire connected to?
