Anything really. A 5x or 10x would probably magnify them enough, but as long as you can see them in detail it shouldn't matter. I'm using a regular 2x magnifying glass and can see everything pretty well.

It might just be the plant itself. Sometimes you get a shitty one. The last two bagseeds I grew were terrible. They were touchy as fuck when it came to nutrients, and the little bastards got infested with fungus gnats 3 times.

I think it's a definite possibility in our lifetime. Labs in states with medical can already tell patients the exact THC/CBN levels of their bud, I think an MJ DNA test is a possibility. My lifetime still has about 50 years left. If I can get my dog's DNA tested, I think I could get my buds DNA...
