I live near Dallas and mine started flowering on Aug 3rd last year. You could also buy some cfls and grow through the night to get them bigger. Good luck fellow texan!

So i went to check on her this afternoon and saw that the base of the stem seems to be split. Is this a huge problem or will the plant just grow regardless. It looks healthy and unaffected but will i soon see a problem?

Thats awesome! I had a similar problem with my jalepenos, they would grow so quick it was crazy! My poor brother kept get jalapenos on his front door but it was greatness. I also had one eggplant that produced fairly well. Here is a pic from last season.

I use bio boos vega twice a week and having done so since birth. Started inside then moved outdoor a few months ago. I think you still have a good window for some pretty decent sized plants. Nothing ventured...Nothing gained.
