You can pick up a $6 temp/humidity guage from walmart in their home improvement area along with a timer for your lights, a brinks timer is like $7 - home depot and lowes carry $10 Ph testers for soil and another model for $12 or so that is a ph meter/watering meter/light meter rolled into one...
