I usually just soak them in a clean cup with bottled water on top of the cable box or fridge for warmth. Tails usually at about 18 hours.

I've only grown one "aliens" but it was Cali Connections Sour Aliens. Herms at 2-3 week's at the preflower sites.

I'm going to say the problem is they're over fed at the moment. When you up pot to a good soil like roots you shouldn't give them anything but water and maybe some bennies and micros. That soil should feed the plants for a few weeks. Start feeding again once you see growth plateau out.
