I would use compost and the soil that is there, also vermiculite, then mulch around to keep weeds out. Thats just a little tip. Also water can also be a issue in NE, we sometimes get a shitload, just rain forever, then we can get droughts for no reason. Idk what to do for a lot of rain, cus too...

i'm in Vermont, we have sporadic summer weather, with lots of rain, or really dry, some times a good combination of both. I'm growing purple power out here, hope it goes well. Love all the cat+weed shots! i should do that with mine! haha
