Nahhh... I snip em, and never had any adverse effects.. Its almost like cancer to a plant... In fact, the plant will try real hard to fix the leaf, or whatever.. why waste the plants energy on an old leaf?? When your going into flower, its always good idea to remove the smaller branches...

Ive always used 5-7 gallon sizes..

leds are cool, but not perfected... kinda like Windows Vista.. Im sure they'll work the bugs out.

I would continue what your doing now, and start one or two bubbler plants on the side so that you get the feel of hydro.. Its really pretty easy, except if your like me without a controller bucket, and do each bucket individually.. Can be a headache dealing with 5 foot tree's.. especially...

Once them roots hit the water, they take off! As ya know :) The soil plants are struggling to keep up, but their doing a terrific job :)
