I've taken a few photos. They are only pale because of the mh bulb and my camera is shit so can't even take a decent one without the bulb but they are healthy green colour. What do you think of them? 5 and half weeks old
My only idea is the pebbles are saturated with pH and it would take crazy amounts of water to flush it down. Never using them again. 1ml/100l of calmag?
I've just poured 20l through plant 1, run off after 10l was 7.4, yesterday it was 6.8. After another 10l it's 7.3. The numbers on photo are the only ones I could find printed on the bag.
Soooo, here are the results. I was expecting better results today but not much has changed since yesterday. Tomorrow is the big flush so I'm hoping to get the coco pH down a lot, I think somewhere around 6 would be good and then keep feeding them lower pH, let's say 4.5 on a daily basis. Do you...
I just got back from work and had a look, the leaves have become a lot more perky even though the pH is probably same as yesterday. I've decided not to flush them today, I'll wait till tomorrow as I'll have the calmag so I'll do water at 4.5 and calmag to flush the coco. I'll still update you...
I'll make the water at 4.5, should be good if you say so. I've just checked the little pot with fresh coco (the experiment you wanted me to do earlier) its still at 6.7 whereas water was at 6.3. Thank you very much, you have no idea how grateful I am. I'll post my results tomorrow after flushing.
So just to clarify, my plan for tomorrow when I get back from work is to flush it with plain water at pH 5.7 until I get similar runoffs. Once flush is complete I make my feed at 5.7 and 0.8 and start adding calmag on Wed.
So I'm just going to have to use lower pH until I get my desired values and eventually it may wash out so I can pour 5.7 and get 5.7 in runoffs. Next time I'll just go coco with perlite.
Thank you, I'll definitely give this a read. My problem is that I read something about watering and it turned out to be a guide for soil rather than coco...
Don't apologise, I appreciate your help. I've just made plain water at 6.3 (hard to get it bang on in a little container) poured through a little pot with fresh coco out of the bag and the runoff was 6.7, I'll pour it again and measure in 2 hours.
