S1 Run: Black Banana Cookies & Gorilla Glue #4

Good to see some of his S1s going. Bad news about the BBC, hope they come around for you. Good luck. I'll be following along.

Thanks, I can't wait to see everything get going. Last year was my first try at trellising cucumbers, and after that I won't go back...it's just so easy. If everything goes to plan, this should be the easiest garden I've done yet. I just have to get my pumps and drip system set up on timers and...

    How Does Your Garden Grow??????

Did a bit of transplanting today. Cucumbers and melons were quickly outgrowing the little six-pack flats. The roots on these melons... Into their news homes. And all together with a doggo. :bigjoint:

Perm's Perpetually Peeping Pistil & Plant Parade

This was a really informative video. I like your approach to nutrients, I definitely feel like starting low and working up is a solid methodology. I've learned the hard way that it's easy to dial up your nutes, but you can't take 'em back. I ran into a hellacious K issue in my outdoor plants...

    How Does Your Garden Grow??????

My seed starts are coming along nicely. Cucumbers are up and doubling in size rapidly. Melons are popping up also. My peppers have mostly germinated, and I can see movement on a few...I imagine I'll be seeing sprouts soon enough. Cucumbers: Melons: I imagine they'll be outside by this...

It has been a week since I transplanted the girls into party cups. They're growing into their new shoes nicely, I'm already seeing roots coming out of the cups. Overall I'm pleased with how they've come back from the brink, just goes to show you can't kill a weed that easily. :mrgreen...

Right on. Tomatoes are pretty easy. The main thing with tomatoes is that they're heavy feeders and don't like to be over-watered, aside from that, they'll pretty much grow themselves. For more manageable plants, I'd suggest reading up on suckering, basically you're pulling the side shoots that...

You're welcome. I think Johnny's is great, huge variety of everything and some very interesting f1 hybrids they develop in-house. Very nice. What varieties of tomatoes do you have going? I haven't started any this year, I may just go pick up some plants from the nursery. Last year I grew Black...

Check out https://www.johnnyseeds.com. If you do a search on their website for "parthenocarpic", it'll pop up a bunch of results. From what I've grown, I'd recommend the Harmonie f1 and the Adam Gherkin. They have several varieties of Asian style cukes and slicers also. I'd definitely recommend...

I didn't even see the UV...that is interesting.

You can do grow bags, pots, in ground...they're pretty versatile. Trellising is good because cucumbers are natural climbers, but they can just as easily be left to vine out on the ground...I would recommend trellising though.

Nice. I kinda figured, that's the way everyone has been going... supplementing white led with far red. That's a pretty badass light. Can't wait to see it in action.

That is so cool. Coming along nicely. How long is it supposed to take from fruit set to harvest?

Lol. Goin full hype train on my cucumbers. All joking aside, I'm so glad I found out about parthenocarpic cucumbers...with the summer heat, pollination and fruit set are problematic, with these plants I have no need to worry. All killer, no filler. :blsmoke:

    Cannarado genetics

Right on, I'm the same way, I'd rather pop 1-2 seeds of 2-3 varieties than 5-6 seeds of one cross...they say variety is the spice of life. No need for apologies, I was just wondering out loud. Like you said, if that one seed is a representative of the kind of quality you get, then I've...

    Cannarado genetics

Very nice. Love the bud structure. Did you just grow a single plant? I'm wondering what kind of variation there is in the seeds. I've got 2 going right now, can't wait to see what comes from them.

Aphids AND Hermie, what do I do?

Good to know. Check a nursery or garden supply shop, that's where I usually find them. The only thing that might be a problem is finding them at this time of year. Good luck to ya. I hate dealing with these problems when the finish is so close.

Aphids AND Hermie, what do I do?

Can you get ladybugs to control the aphids a bit? That'd be my choice that far into flowering. Do you guys call them ladybugs or ladybirds?
