    Question about hydro plant behavior

Hey @Serpentz , hope all is still going well with the garden! For a possible answer to the "issue" you were experiencing, I'd suggest googling DLI, or "Daily Light Integral". Basically, when a plant has absorbed all the photons it needs in a given day, it will droop the leaves, exposing less...

How do I feed my RDWC plants? + EC/PPM/PH

Yeah, I'm sure he could do the same, and be fine. I'm just trying to keep it relatively simple and straightforward for a first timer. I doubt he has the equipment to check each element in his mix to see exactly what's needed mid-week, so topping off with more nutes with the original ratios could...

How do I feed my RDWC plants? + EC/PPM/PH

The reason I like to add back plain water is that we don't know exactly how much of each nutrient the plants use as the time goes. I'd rather let the nute level slowly drop until the next fresh rez change, than add back nutes to unknown ratios left in the rez. You could potentially overdose with...

How do I feed my RDWC plants? + EC/PPM/PH

LOL Oh, I know....I'm sure pretty much any question that could be asked is answered somewhere here. I just figured since he had a few specific questions, we could help him out a bit. No need to scare the newbs away before they get a chance to rot a few roots

How do I feed my RDWC plants? + EC/PPM/PH

Wow, sorry your thread is so full of dickbags, @tookablunts . Seems they'd rather spend more time slinging shit than it would take to answer a few questions. I'll try to give you the best answers in general terms as I can. Keep in mind, your results may (probably will) vary. Your environment is...

    New to LEDs

Good luck! As long as you get good penetration, you should be golden ...if not, you can always add a few strips mounted up and down the sides / corners of your cabinet later, and surround the plant with more light later on.

    New to LEDs

An even more DIY LED setup...Doesn't come in kits that I know of yet, but if you actually like McGyvering shit, they're a lot more customizeable. Look up Bridgelux EB strips or Samsung Strips. There's a bunch of awesome threads here in the LED section that could add up to weeks of research, but...

    New to LEDs

It comes with hanging wire / hooks / hardware. Just screw everything together, board to heat sink. Power supply on heat sink. Pretty much plug n play.

    New to LEDs

Hey, @KlosetKush good luck with your first LED build, if you head in that direction... DIY LED lights really aren't tough to do, and once you do build one, that may likely be your preferred way of lighting from then on. To clarify, and hopefully help with your final choice, I had some...

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

Ehh, that's not right... At full power for the flower light, each set of 6 strips would run at 700ma, so each strip would be about 117ma...but, as I said, they're dimmed down, probably somewhere 60-90ma per strip at the moment. The vert veg light would be 3 sets of 4 strips, each set capable of...

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

Thanks! Your eyes do not deceive you- there's both a bit of nute burn, and light bleaching on those plants. They haven't had the smoothest cycle, and there's definitely a bit of a learning curve with LEDs, but they're doing pretty well over all. When run at full power, the strips are running...

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

The lights are up and running in their new homes now, so I've got a few pics to share. The plants haven't been through a whole cycle under their respective lights yet, but they're on their way. If anyone has any questions, fire away...

    6" x 22 " 558 samsung 561c led panel

Damn, I was hoping they were a little smaller than 100gal, but was afraid you might say that. I like the 4x4 rez for a good shallow fit in the tent, but don't want to spend the $100+ they usually want for them, and definitely don't want to use 100gal on every rez change! I guess the search for...

    6" x 22 " 558 samsung 561c led panel

Great looking over all, @OLD MOTHER SATIVA ! Slightly off topic, but could you tell me about your rez's from the quoted post? Brand, size, etc?

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

Thanks for the help, fellas! I got the POTs wired in today, cleaned the wiring up a bit more, and soldered things together on the clone and veg lights. Doing this, I found out a few things I had asked about before: With the dimmer wires wired together, like first tested, the light was...

Thanks for checking in, Wietefras. I disconnected the lights after testing, just in case... Can you recommend dimmers for the drivers mentioned?

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

Good to know, thanks! Can you recommend dimmers for the drivers, so I can get these powered up properly? Are there dimmers with digital meters incorporated available? They're the following models: HLG-120H-C700B HLG-240H-C2100B HLG-480H-C3500A...Hopefully by end of month. Couldn't get the 3500B...

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

I went to the only electronic supply I could find in the area to grab a couple of POTs (1 for each driver), but was talked out of it by the sales guy. They were 100k, but the guy said they're only good for like 5w, and I would need a rheostat, even for the smallest fixture, which they were out...

Calling all DIY LED Gurus: New Challenge(?)

I couldn't find a dimmer around anywhere anyway, so I just tied the dimmer ends together with a wire nut for testing. Last night, I just laid the 6 strip horizontal seed light out bare for a minute or less, wired in series, and it lit up great. Today, I mounted it to an aluminum reflector...
