The flower looks normal for day 30ish. Its the mildew that concerns me ,( i dont see any in the pics) either your mistaking crystals for mildew or if you really have mildew that means its way too humid in that room ,, is there an opening for your intake air ? What is the temperature?

And you dont ' have to water before you plant but it does a better job of getting the soil evenely moist.
Pre- water your soil before you put the plants in dont be afraid to get your hands in there and mix everything up and break chunks of soil,,,,, dont over water just get it wet but not pooling .. And wait until its completely dry before watering again Oh and check the clones for mites
i understand what your trying to say but in reality you are in the deers home so the less intrusive you can be the better for both parties. Its not like theyr gonna go eat your plants for sure.. Ive never had deer eat my plants ever ( 16 years ) and theyr are plennnnty arround , they have eaten...
Feed them instead, go a couple hundred feet and drop a pile of apples or carrots, it might get expensive with the price of veggies these days ( woof). Some grocery stores will sell them really cheap when they expire others will give them away ,, throw a trail cam in and you get entertainment...
