I currently have 4" ducts with inline exhaust fan, but no intake fan. If I do go HPS, I will change exhaust ducting to 6" and get a stronger fan. And I'll use my 4" inline to push cool air in from outside. Heat shouldn't be an issue.
I'm looking at dogital ballasts from HTG. I'd like to get a 600w system for when I expand, but will this be too much light for 3 plants in a 2x4 space? I may be better of going with 400w
Gotta find something in the $200 range for this first grow. Once I get back to work and have to worry about heat and electric this Summer, I will definitely check these out! Just can't justify dropping 500-600 on a light right now with a few more months of Winter left for me. I know it will save...
Well it's not like my money is wasted. The light seems to be doing just fine for seedlings and veg growth. Very fast growth with no heat problems. Luckily, I haven't even bought the second one yet. You're pushing me back towards HPS for flowering though. I'm out of the loop as far as cobs...
What makes these lights so bad besides the bad craftsmanship? Of course, if diodes burn out, I understand that. However, if these lights are 260 real watts and I'm going to have two of them, what would make you think only 2-5 ounces are possible? People are still getting .5-1g per real watt with...
Wow, so glad you came across my thread! Thanks again!! I can't believe how great she looks just 24 hours after taking that half-dead top off! This is 24 hour growth with the Single LED 30" above the tops. I will be lowering the light back down to 24" today, but I wanted to see if I could get...
Middle of the road price point and decent results. As I stated earlier, if I'm not getting the results I want at any point, I'll switch to HPS. The lights run really cool and cover the space that I need. If the lights were that terrible, no one would be getting results
I will drop the light back down now that the mystery plant has recovered some. Thanks for the advice on the nute companies. I'm sure I'll be researching up to the day I make the order.
I've beeen keeping them under 24 hour light since they started. LED is not costing much and I have not seen anything but fast growth and tight nodes from leaving he light on all the time.
I'm not really on a time constraint as far as how long these things can go. I would like to harvest around...
I'm excited to have you on board! I did a lot of research before ordering my supplies, and I have done my best to think things through and always be a step or two ahead (SO FAR.) I will be ordering my nutes, more soil, and the final pots in the next few days. I am also considering perlite or...
You've been a big help so far. Very pleased with the results of taking that top off (as scary as it was)
As far as watering, I use a big one gallon jug with holes drilled in the top so the water comes out slowly. I think you are onto something with the water burns, as the water splatters since...
Wow, a LOT has happened in a week! The Blue Dream and Critical Kush females are doing great! I shorted them on soil, overestimating their stretch, but it's nothing the transplant won't solve.
As far as the mystery, S/he has definitely been used and abused more since I ripped off the roots...
Thank you for all the advice. This is my first plant and it definitely shows. I've had the plant braced for 36 hours against the snap. You can still see the break, but the plant is standing up on it's own. I was planning on LST for a nice even canopy of 8 colas. Right now the plant is still in...
24 hours since the snap and she seems to be doing ok. Today was watering day, so she was drooping even more than usual. I raised the light 8" to see if I could get her to stretch a little taller. New growth still looks good. I'm seeing discoloring on the leaves too. Looks very similar to water...
