    Speed controller needed for RVK??

Sorry for the double post but also wanted to throw on that you should use a variable speed controller regardless of noise or not, its very important to be able to adjust air volume especially when using a high cfm fan in a small area. just tweak it so the walls of your tent are sucking in just...

    Speed controller needed for RVK??

Well for starters yes it will be much quieter with the filter and ducting hooked up like Weedfreak78 said, and i agree that you should have the fan outside the tent (i have mine in an insulated box ontop of the tent) however i would not follow his advice of pushing through the filter, not only...

My remarkable first grow on the east coast! lots of pics!

hey guys here's just a few pics from last nights feeding. The naturally grown plant seems to be about 50% frostier than the trimmed plant right now but im sure that plant is a few days behind from the mild shock of being trimmed regularly. the trimmed one is really filled out though :) should...

My remarkable first grow on the east coast! lots of pics!

I could but I'd rather not. I hate working with tight spaces and 4x4 is as small as im comfortable with. I'd rather spend the money and have the extra room. Just my preference. Gotta remember I used to working in a grow house with 50 plants to a room with plenty enough space to walk through em...

My remarkable first grow on the east coast! lots of pics!

Veg area will come with time. This was all started less than 2 months ago lol. As I said I'm planning to build a shed in the near future with built in ac and it'll be big enough for 2 4x4 tents+ working room and then I can go perpetual. and I genuinely enjoy growing all strains. Including autos...

My remarkable first grow on the east coast! lots of pics!

definitely final! In AZ i didnt care to because my uncle grew so i just got it from him, but even if he was out it was never hard to find good bud and the best part was regardless of who i got it from in AZ i was able to 100% confirm what strain it was, how it was grown, and what was used in/on...

lower wattage for flower than veg??

Hey guys, i just had a quick question about wattages in the various stages of life. ive read many people say they use higher wattage for vegging with and lower the wattage for flowering, the most common example ive seen is people using 600w MH for veg and then turning down to a 400w hps for...

    question about "fast version" plants

i built a 22"x22"x46" micro tent for a single plant (i just grow to self supply) and i use a 150w hps. (the cfl is for extra blue spectrum) i meant to get blackjack autos and got the blackjack fast version by mistake. should be just fine though, i read the grow journal that the breeders...

    question about "fast version" plants

So i was just wondering, with fast versions being considered non-autoflowrring (according to their breeders packs) do they still need to be switched to 12/12 to flower. Or do they retain the predetermined flowering time and can stay under 18-20 hours of light through the whole cycle?

    Ventilator in small tent??

heres some pics of mine, im in the process of redoing it, just re-wrapped it in panda film today, waiting for a higher powered ac adpater to show up so i can install my fan controller and extra fans. also i need to make a heatshield for the ballast end of my lamp as it is very close to the film...

    Ventilator in small tent??

lol thanks. i spent 13 of the last 14 years in cali, i had lots of grower friends and help them setup and redo their rooms all the time and of course attended the trimming parties :) i picked up a alot from those guys, and i never needed to grow myself because id usually get paid in bud for...

    Ventilator in small tent??

I don't know exactly which fan you have but let's just do some quick guesstimation numbers. You said your fan has a max cfm rating of 420. So let's say that's what it spins on high. Medium speed is probably around 300 and low is probably around 200. Your tent is similar to mine but you have 25...

    Ventilator in small tent??

Lol again your misunderstanding. let me give you an example. My tent is almost exactly 13cft. I run my exhaust 24/7 at approximately 20cfm fan spec. but by the time to air actually passes through the filter and out the mouth of the fan the air is only moving about 4cfm. Because I have...

    Ventilator in small tent??

You misunderatand. You don't want to only vent very 3 to 5 mins. You want your rooms air to be exchanged every 3-5 minutes. It means you don't want too much air movement. Replacing the air in your tent 5 times a minute will cause stress to your plant and not filter the odor out of you room. You...

    Ventilator in small tent??

Yikes that is very overpowered for your tent. Running on the lowest setting you'd still be changing air 4 times a minute. Your tent is like 25cft. Since your pulling through a filter and hood you can multiply cft by 3 and that usually gives you a pretty close cfm for effective scrubbing and air...

    Ventilator in small tent??

If your not sure of the cfm rating thats the first thing id be researching. its not just about getting enough suction its about getting the RIGHT suction. you only want to exchange the air in your room every 3-5 mins. and you want your air to move slowly enough over the carbon filter to be...
