Just powered up one of the fans that will cool the heatsink. It runs soooo quiet. Which is good because right now my intake & exhaust fans are louder than I want them to be. The holes in which they are mounted were cut 3/8" bigger than I wanted. I forgot to account for the bit size. FYI, the...

Minor Update: So most of the stuff is here. The driver and power inlet for the driver will be here tomorrow. Here's a pic of, assorted stuff...I also have a heat gun for the heat shrink tube. I'm going to take some of the many extra spade terminals and replace the ends of the PC fan...

@brettsog, So this is a rough idea for what I think you wanna do. I assumed your tent is 1.8m tall. The aluminum channel is 30in long, 6in deep, and 4in high.

@brettsog, I would suggest then what a lot of other people are doing and get CPU heatsinks. I'm workin up a 3D design for ya with the details you've given me so far.

What kind of heatsinks are you thinking of going with?

Nice work but all those dangling wires make me cringe:???: I'm making the jump to LEDs too. My small cab was getting to hot with cfls so I'm hoping for a significant temperature drop with my new light.

Thanks! What kind of tools do you have or have access to? What kind of design are you thinking about now? What's the size of the space you're growing in? While I'm waiting for parts I can help you come up with something, if you'd like.

I almost bought one of these before I found the DIY COB lights. A part of me wants you to use the Mars Hydro for parts instead of just chuckin it.
