I'm growing autos and have the room etc for 5 gal pots, is 5 gallon pots a lil overkill? If so I'll stick with my 3 gallon if they will be plenty, any help would be appreciated

I'm wanting to start my seedlings in their final 3or5 gallon pots without any transplanting, is tht ok will it hurt the plants in any way?, I'll transplant but if it's not necessary tht would be nice.
