Some stuff to try to improve success.
Foliar spray your "mothers" with kelp extract two weeks before you cut. And foliar spray with fish hydro one week before you cut.
Soak your jiffy pellets in compost tea, or innoculate them with Azos, or some kind of beneficial bacteria product. Consider...
The "N" in lots of plant fertilizers is from amino acids. Neem meal, alfalfa, soybeans and kelp are used to make all kinds of fertilizers? Why not peas?
Nitrogen from amino acids (the ammonium form) takes less energy for plants to absorb and use than the nitrate form of nitrogen in most salt...
Pay attention to the actual Watts the light uses, not whatever silly number the company puts next to the name of their lights. Aim for 35 watts of LED per square foot of grow space.
Your tent now is 4 x 6? Is that a custom home build? That's a pretty big area for a 600 watt HPS to cover...
Harley Smith from Raw Nutrients says amino acids in your nutrients will chelate calcium and keep it in solution to prevent build up.
This is just a little short video, but he goes into way more detail in other presentations.
No problem man.
Actually, that Tomato Tone is like 3-4-7 or something, right? A couple table spoons of that during week 5 or 7 would probably be great as a late flower top dress to provide everything and bump K.
I use 1/2 cup or maybe 1 cup/cubic foot of Dolomite Lime for Mag plus some calcium, and about the same amount of gypsum for Calcium plus Sulfur. This is mixed into the soil, I've never heard about gypsum tea before.
Crabshell is like 2-4-1 with a bunch of calcium and less magnesium. It's...
G13 is known to stretch and get tall in flower.
Veg until your plants take up half of the floor space in your tent then flower. Don't veg them too big. If they double in size they'll still fit. Watch your height! You don't want your plants growing into your light.
I'm not an expert on R/O water, I just use my tap water. Earlier in the year, lots of guys were talking about having issues with magnesium and other minerals because of R/O water. It almost seemed to do more harm than good.
If chlorine killing off your microbes is the main concern preventing...
I use BioAg TM-7 every 3rd week. It's got micro nutrients/minerals like Iron and Molybdenum and humic acid to aid the uptake.
Earth Juice Microblast is a bottled organic source.
I agree that Alfalfa-Kelp tea is great, and is OK to use throughout flower. If anyone is taking a poll.
But it's not mandatory, and there is plenty of other stuff to use during flower.
I agree with you printer, More K near the end of flower. You can see yellowing around the leaf edges in your pics.
Also, maybe consider less phosphorus during the least few weeks of flower. It's hard to tell exactly, but on your close up bud pic, what's left of your leaves look pretty yellow...
I agree with manfredo about lack of magnesium, maybe K. For me, calcium deficiency shows up as small round spots near the bottom of leaves vs the ends/tips of the leaves.
Are you just in soil, no nutrients or anything else new since you started flower? Sometimes high Phosphorus bloom nutes...
It looks like HLG is phasing out the 550 and the 650 and transitioning to a 600 model. I guess they are sort of combining parts from current batches right now.
Doug, I wouldn't be too upset, if looks like you're gonna get performance similar to the 650 for a price similar to the 550. So...
How are the results? I'm trying to get into microdosing my plants with alfalfa, kelp and fish hydro to increase nutrient and micro nutrient uptake get high brix. And also to fight mold.
