How often are you watering? Once a nice root system is established, they love to be watered frequently. Feeding them a high P fert is very beneficial too.

I have my 4 cuttings cut at a 45° angle, all have three pups except one that has two. And all the pups have grown from the highest three areoles, now that I think of it. Possibly the angle helped facilitate multiple pups? Not sure. Pups can pop up from nearly anywhere at anytime.

Many places sell live 'peyote'. But be sure which species of Lophophora you are purchasing. Diffusa is often passed off as the fabled Williamsii, which has zero to very minute amounts of mescaline, if that's what you seek, brother. Maybe you're just looking for a new friend? ;) They are great...

Hmm, good point Tenner, you could be right. Perhaps that particular time and space spent in 'limbo' between here and there is too traumatic for this hyperspace virgin. A case of 'if you're going to do it, it's worth doing right'. But I will find out in the coming months when I can attune...
