    Potassium Deficiency?

Just ordered a TDS (ppm) meter; be here Saturday...

    Potassium Deficiency?

Thanks. I don't have a ppm meter, but can certainly get one. I use town water, and they publish their analysis, broken down by particular minerals. The sodium level is 62 ppm; nothing else comes close in terms of concentration (Sulfate: 2.2 ppm, Fluoride: 1.0 ppm are the next two). Does that...

    Potassium Deficiency?

It's Northern Lights (from Sensi seeds). The stems of the plant itself are green, the stems of the leaves are a red/purple.

    Potassium Deficiency?

...and they're in 7 gallon cloth containers, that probably have closer to 6 gallons of soil in them.

    Potassium Deficiency?

P.S. Runoff from today's watering: 6.11 for the "problem" plant; 6.29 for her sister. And this is my pH pen, which I am suspicious of:

    Potassium Deficiency?

Truly appreciate your help. First, the soil is mostly FoxFarm Ocean Forest. To be precise: 67% FFOF, 27% perlite, 6% vermiculite. I had assumed my water would be pH 7.0 or thereabouts; this morning I set out to answer all your pH questions and my first reading showed my water at 8.09. I...

    Potassium Deficiency?

I haven't been giving calcium or magnesium. I checked the pH yesterday and found that it was low -- 5.5 when I tested the runoff; 5.8 when I mixed some soil with water and tested that. That can't be good, and I'm going to work on bringing that up.

    Two Plants; Different pH Levels

This was a surprise. I have two plants that have been treated exactly the same. One has been doing slightly better than the other all along, which I think is natural -- different individuals. Recently the one doing better developed what I think is a potassium deficiency (see...

    Potassium Deficiency?

I guess that's one vote for nutrient burn -- thanks. I have trouble believing it though -- they're in 7 gallon containers of Fox Farm Ocean Forest, cut significantly with perlite, and I fed no nutrients at all until they hit 2 months. Since then (about 3 1/2 weeks) I've fertilized more or less...

    Potassium Deficiency?

What do you think? Growing in soil; 3 1/2 weeks into flower. I recently started giving FF Big Bloom every other watering; could increase to every watering, or give a higher concentration.

Using a pH pen in Soil

Thanks; will do. Yeah, but then we grow a plant in it, water it, maybe fertilize...

    Are we back?

Nope -- I'm not a Facebook user. There are Facebook pages you can see without having an account; I thought the RIU page was one of those (shouldn't it be?).

Trying again; the link is: https://www.facebook.com/591230844307200

    Are we back?

Thanks. But when I click on that it sends me to a facebook page that ends in 591230844307200 (begins with the usual facebook prefix -- RIU seems to think I'm not permitted to post links at the moment...), which gives a "Sorry, this page isn't available" error from Facebook.

    Are we back?

Could you please post a link to the correct Facebook page -- many thanks.

Using a pH pen in Soil

I just got a Hanna pH pen, calibrated it, watered my plants, and stuck it in the soil to take a reading. Which worked fine, but the soil (and especially bits of perlite) gets jammed up in opening that holds the electrode, and it was a real pain to clean. It's hard to imagine the pen can stand...

DDoS attack, pictures ,down time etc.

Well, I've been waiting for someone else to say it, and it seems nobody will, so I guess it's me. Before I do, I'll say it again -- I love this site. It's far and away the best of its kind, and what I say here is motivated only by wanting to see it keep on keeping on... And @sunni, please...

    recent DDoS attack

Thanks, @sunni, for your reply. I'm pretty new here; I wasn't aware that it was well known that there was only one admin -- I see your avatar says "administrator," and I've also seen members @Admin and @rollitup whose avatars say the same, so that looks like at least three. But maybe a member...

    recent DDoS attack

No disrespect, and I don't want to cause trouble, but it's disappointing to see @squarepush3r's post get no response. I have no more than a layman's understanding of DDOS, but it seems reasonable that once the attack is over, the site would be exactly as it was before. I understand the need...

    Other Forum Sites?

Yeah, okay. I'll tell you what made me most nervous: In scouring the web trying to find out what was up with RIU, I found that there is a rollitup.org Facebook page. And there was no information there. You'd think if the site was down, there'd be a "Hang in there; we're on it" message on the...
