No CO2 that I am aware of. Just a glycerin & water vapor. The CO2 producing Halloween fog would be the dry ice in the punch bowl.

You can also bury them deeper. Dirt will support the extra stemage nicely. Which depending on the pot they are in, may require a transplant..

I have had tap & bottled water Ph at 8. Typically when you add nutes, it brings the Ph down then you adjust further after that if necessary. You need some Ph down. Some folks use lemon juice in a pinch. Some folks swear by lemon juice and use it all the time.

An issue I have a peave with on the AG system..... water dripping off of a sopping wet sponge may provide theoretical aeration... but not as much as the submerged roots would like to have. A $10 aquarium air pump and airstone will make your roots 10 times happier, your plant will look better...
