Very good suggestion dadio (+rep), but if the plastic soda bottles are to big you can apply the same principle with smaller containers like tupperware or any type storage containers that come in a variety of shapes and sizes that will fit between your plants.

I don't know the size of your table or the amount of plants in each table but what you need is something to dispalce your water volume. Something like small cement bricks. Just something that takes up space but won't move or float when the table is flooded.
