Veg/flower with t12s?????

Not for flower or veg, not enough lumens. But you can use them for lighting over your clones... You would be better off with CFL's if cash if to tight to get HID's.

agreed. im not sure what the difference is between T5s/T12s/T8s etc. but mine are two 2' T5s and specific to growing "Sunblaster" is the brand, $33.95 at my grow shop each, 2500 lumens, 24watts, 6400k or 6500k i forget but my question is then similar.. What if i flowered with 2700k T5s?

i vegged my first clone with 4 T-12 brite white bulbs they were 6500k i believe it wa slow and i switched to a 4 by 6 ho t-5 and seen about 200 times the growth rate but they did grow under the t-12 and that was only 4 bulbs. this was about 30 clones and i got them at 2 inches and vegged them under the t-12 for 3 weeks and got to between 8-12 inches.

your wasteing oyu money and time trying to flower under t-5,t-8-t12 but some do and claim successess.

I just found this out recently myself. Whatever the number is (12, 5, etc) divide by 8 and that is the diameter of the tube. For example, a T12 is 12/8, or an inch and a half in diameter.

o rit could be t-12=really old t-8=alittle newer t-5 late 90's tech, t-4 is the newest bestest.

I'm surprised so many people are opposed to fluoros for seedlings and early veg. Especially if you already have few of them on hand. Throw a few 6500K daylight tubes in and your good to go for the first 2-3 weeks. Also good if grow space is limited and you want to have a separate room or cab for vegging while your flowering room is occupied. They don't create much heat so no need for any elaborate ventilation. Even in the summer a single oscillating fan was enough to keep my cab cool enough. Just have to keep them really close. I've vegged (2-3 weeks) with both fluoros and 6500K CFLs and didn't notice any significant difference. Except of course the added heat to deal with when using the CFLs. Never used MH so can't really comment on that, but fluoroscents will work for veg.

As for flowering, I don't think it is recommended. In that case I would definitely choose CFLs over fluoros if money and/or room were issues.

I never seen a t-4 read about them HD and Lowes does not have them or any grow shop, they could be the ho,or VHO im not sure but theyd have to b smaller exactly a .5" thay use a G5 minature bipin??
