Well you don't have to. Topping gives similar results as LST. You are trying to get multiple colas and an even canopy. Just keep it tied down until those branches start growin fast the original top. The second pic you can see how I tied the main stem to the right. And the first is a top shot...

Oh yeah, The Big Bud grow was 5 months ago. I just sprouted 11 of the 20 free beans and they look way better than the BB did at this age. Probly all some fuckin bag seed...

How did you germinate? Were the seeds dark brown with black tiger stripes, or did they look like lil limes? I germinate with the simple but effective paper towel technique, if you did as well, do as NWS advised and be patient. Good Luck!
