You will get algae in both systems if you don't use h202. I'm in hydroton and love it!

How many plants? And make shure you don't buy old or unknown ballasts, it's worth not burning your house down.

I love general hydro flora nova grow/bloom+GH koolbloom for heavy flower. Also you need something to control algae like h202. Then prob ph down. That would be my first grocery list. Good luck and JAH Love!
