    Nanolux vs Quantum?

Ha ha ha!!! Candles! Candles! What a great idea! High-PAR Candles! Be completely off the grid!!! :) Thank Jesus that the lighting side of the hydro industry is the only one making insane ADD/HD claims. Because, champion gold medals from "World Science Fair of 1940" --- "#1 Plant...

    Nanolux vs Quantum?

Correct. A fan allows for a smaller form factor. Holding all things equal, a No-Fan option requires a larger housing and/or perhaps heat sinks or fins to dissipate the heat at the same rate a fan would do. It usually is. My biggest vexation is when someone makes yield claims and/or asks me...

    Nanolux vs Quantum?

Do I remember them? :) You're pulling my leg. I built them for years in Cali. DMH400/DMH1000/DHPS400/DHPS430/DHPS600/DHPS1000 and of course the MH/HPS1000 Multi-ballast with the X1 ignitor switch. That ballast was so OG! :) -Cheers

    Nanolux vs Quantum?

Totally, specially the first couple of years when Electronic ballasts arrived in our scene, Magnetics were a 'must have' to use a SPARES! Magnetics are robust and sturdy. I still own a few from the mid 90's. Last forever. In the introduction of the early electronic ballasts [there is a...

    Nanolux vs Quantum?

Both are fantastic ballasts with proven track records and both have excellent warranties and American product support teams. If this helps, the biggest differentiation between the two you mention is that the Nanolux can be controlled, dimmed, programmed, turned on and off remotely via a DTU/RTU...

    330 CDM for flowering?

Photons are not photons. Their energies states are different (thus the difference in their color) and their effect on morphology (flowering specifically) is dramatically different. http://www.lightsym16.com/ <-----------The worlds best horticultural light scientist will be meeting next...

    Anyone use nanolux DE 1215w

In Spain we call it: Lámpara Dutch will be similar to German with 'Lampe'. I erroneously just always say licht. Yep When I worked for Philips. I was laughed at for calling them bulbs. When I worked for Hydrofarm I was laughed at for calling them bulbs. If I say the world 'bulb' at any of the...

    330 CDM for flowering?

In terms of radiance, the 315w produces the equivalent of a 380w HPS (PPF/PAR Output) so its actually not even close to a 450w HPS -- HOWEVER -- the percentage of light usable by the plant (because of the fuller spectrum) makes them far more effective. So a larger portion of the light...

    Anyone use nanolux DE 1215w

That's exactly right! The E-pap style reflector is °16 wider than the Gavita or Nanolux therefore will be spaced a little farther apart. The Nanolux can be hung a little higher. DE Technology is righteous! I wish they made a 2,000w lamp. :) Good luck with your garden.

    Anyone use nanolux DE 1215w

bulb bəlb/ noun 1. A rounded underground storage organ present in some plants, notably those of the lily family, consisting of a short stem surrounded by fleshy scale leaves or leaf bases and lying dormant over winter. 2. an object with a rounded or teardrop shape like a bulb, in particular...

    Anyone use nanolux DE 1215w

Looks awesome!!!.. The DE spacing will be determined by how wide [or deep] the reflector is. As for Nanolux / Gavita / E-Pap they are very comparable. With a beam angle of 134°/ 40°/ 150° respectively.... The Nanolux is slightly the deepest. E-pap the broadest. That will affect spacing...

    CMH Bulb Flickering?

Yes of course! Any retrofit lamp with new arc....designed to bring up to speed old hardware. Sexy. Like resurrecting an old laptop with linux. Even better since it is bringing up to speed the "edn effector" Phillips retrofit 860W CMH [4 use on 1000W magnetic ballasts only] lamp's bright...

    330 CDM for flowering?

Magnetics are great ballasts. I still have some I use as spares--says much as their reliability and durability approaches 100%. Had only need to replace less than 50 capacitors in 20 years in HUNDREDS of lights. Another great advantage to magnetics is their inexpensive initial cost upfront...

    CMH Bulb Flickering?

One of the key features of the re-development of the recently reintroduced CMH versus traditional MH is the efficiency gained in the ballast. Very little heat is given off the driver [compared to traditional magnetic ballasts]. The CMH ballast should be only warm to the touch. Never hot...
