Design consultation - 11x11' room space; perpetual harvest

Oh and almost forgot: the window is light sealed and I am using hard 1" styro boards so I can cut ducting holes and fasten louvered vent covers and such. The window slides open from the right side about 1/2-way at max open. I only plan to leave it open 10-12" since it's 48" tall. So all...

Design consultation - 11x11' room space; perpetual harvest

Hi folks, I'm in the midst of my first grow but I've already started planning my new room design. I should be writing this about 2 months prior, but better late than never. I've done a lot of reading and seen a lot of setups so I hope I got this right and didn't make some newb airflow error...

Identify This Plant Part & Sex

I'm going to be sexing my plants soon and was curious if they all turned out male or not... I too am rolling the 4-sided die from seed.

CA Bean Bank - Caramel Kush

Anyone grown/smoked this before? I happened to get it because of it's short growth height and cycle, easy hybrid for my newb self. Label says: indica/sativa 3-6 ft flower: 55-65 days yield 225g+ in/330+ out "Somango and Kushage cross paths to produce a smooth medicine with great structure...

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

I just re-checked the night time darkness now, and I mis-spoke. My human eye can only make out the faintest outline of light around the blinds, similar to the outline around the door to the room itself. You can't see anything else in the room, so I think it's ok. Then again, it's cloudy...

Yeah I figured the same, re: moon light and such. I still may seal it up just to be safe as you said. The Humboldt Gravity label:

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

Sweet, awesome advice thanks dude! I will seek out that heater -- good stuff. There is a slight leak of light through the blinds in the window (partially covered), but standing in the room at dark you cannot see the plants at all, so I assume they will be ok. Thoughts on that? Absolutely no...

Quantum ballast - does dimming affect bulb output/life?

I emailed them this same question, they are apparently carrying out tests on bulb longevity. It doesn't matter much given that you change it regularly enough anyhow, but I'm curious about lumen drop-off over time if you are cycling between 50-100% daily or even weekly. I also asked about their...

Quantum ballast - does dimming affect bulb output/life?

Hi all, I've just purchased a new 1000w Quantum digital ballast with this nifty 50/75/100% "dimming" feature. I was curious if anyone has experience with this ballast and whether the dimming affects the bulb longevity or output drop-off over time. I'm using a Hortilux EYE HPS bulb with this...

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

Thanks smokey. :D I am flowering now, end of first week. I'm using a 1/2 dose of Liquid KoolBloom w/ the GH nutes so I am hoping that will take care of any K or P lackings. Yesterday was our bump from 50% to 75% nutes and the resulting PPM ~850. Strongest they've seen yet so we'll see how...

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

Yeah now that they have stretched a bit the leaves aren't overlapping as much and moisture between the leaves is more easily evaporated. No more holes to report. ;)

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

smokey I think you might be right. I tried some additional fan action today and saw nothing (phew), and I have noticed (in my twice-daily checkups) some of that moisture build up. I will have to be more vigilant about that I guess. The fan I have on them now is oscillating and a bit closer...

Roger that, I'll try some medium-brisk fan action tomorrow when they wake up to see if anything flys about. Thanks.

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

That's a good tip, thanks. I am keeping a journal since this is my first grow. The only thing I can think of that I did was to rotate a few of the plants, and I remove the two weak ones. These spots were starting (in particular that one leaf with the chunk taken out of both sides) before all...

BTW those puncture marks are holes that are expanding, seemingly by the day. The 3rd pic shows 3 holes in the leaf, but 24hrs prior it was only one hole. :| Otherwise the plants are healthy and thriving, save the leaves that show some of the early stress/nutrient issues.

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

I do have cats but they are strictly forbidden from the grow room. :) So I don't think that's it but good thinking... any other ideas? I have literally hunted all over the plants and cannot find any pests, so I'm left to wonder if it's not just the plant itself. These are relatively new...

leaves appear to be a sneaky someone's dinner

Hi all, Been lurking for a long while and finally got my own grow together. Naturally for my first post, I have to ask for help. ;) First off, my grow: Indoor, using SH Bubbleponics modified setup (yeah I know, let's call it a "learning experience") 2 x 85w CFL 3000k/6500k 4 x Caramel Kush...
