Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Oh man, I don't mean to question everyone who takes the time to respond, but really? I've seen the attached chart everywhere - is it incorrect or am I reading it wrong? And the soil's pretty good on that front from what I understand... :peace:

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Dude..I was going to post again to say I ended up following your advice in the end.kiss-ass (dammit I love that smilie) About 18 inches up was where it felt most comfortable when I was adjusting the light. So thank you for that, and for the recipe, that's really cool. I'm moving towards some...

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Sweet! Good job man, it was easy to understand. I've read similar approaches before, but they always get over-complicated or confusing, at which point I just assume the author is winging it. So I'm gonna do that this afternoon and see what happens. Seems weird that the pH of the run-off is...

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Hey dude, I did say in my original post that I know there are issues surrounding measuring pH the way I did. But I looked at your link and I don't think I've seen the correct solution written so clearly & intelligently before, so thanks for that. If you wrote it, hats off to you. Just in case...

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Hey man, of course you're absolutely right. I really read every bit of info I could to do the best job, and thought the lights being so close (in the correct temps range) was a stroke of genuis. Turns out I'm a dick! But hey ho, we live and learn. Cheers again for the info though dude.

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Lovely job, sir, thanks. So you think it's a pH/lockout issue? In my original post I said what the pH of the system is (or my tragic attempts at measuring it, anyway..) - from eveything I've read I think it's too high but no-one else seems bothered, so I'm just going to keep an eye on things...

Huh. Didn't know that about being too small to show deficiency, cheers for that. And the general consensus is that I'm killing it with too much light, so nice one man. :peace:

Added to my original post a few posts back. She'd literally just been watered, so you're right! You agree with lime73 about the bleaching being because the lights too close?

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Hey man, I've not seen those 4 multicoloured charts before - thanks! And are you thinking the water is too...low in pH? Despite the run-off being in a good (ish) range?

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Wow, thank you everyone. Ok, so... no it's not too hot. I learned the 'hand test' a while ago, and it's fine - corroborated, like I say, by a thermometer that is slightly more under the light than the plant is. It's not wet - or rather it is, because I'd just watered her. I think if...

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Hey man, thanks for jumping in. I should've qualified that..you're right it's low. I was going for about 6.2 at the beginning of the grow, but bought it down because of the high pH of the run-off. It seems a lot of folks are happy running a little under 6.0 in soil. I'm beginning to think...

Experts needed please!!! Papery, bleached leaves..

Hi folks I've been trawling around trying to find out what's wrong here. The plant is growing like crazy, but the leaves are curling a little, and they're papery, not lush like I'd expect. In my inexperienced, noobish way, I've narrowed it down to the following possibilities... 1. It's too...

1st week of 12/12 Leaves yellow (Pics)

Those plants look just like mine, but I think I 'm a couple of weeks behind you. I've had some excellent advice suggesting it's a PH imbalance causing the plants to not be able to use some nutrients in the soil. The cause of mine yellowing is a Zinc deficiency from this 'lock out'. Check here...

    Yellowing leaves - experts needed!

Very nice again - esp. the first one. I assume it's telling us most nutrients are available when the PH is in the high 6's?

Right. Shiny new PH pen confirms PH was 7.6!! Have adjusted slightly with PH down - these things need to be done over time, right?
