DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

@firsttimeARE - Thanks, you're right, I need to ease back a bit. I'm just finding this so fricken frustrating that I cannot determine a cause for the nightly, and IMO, massive PH drops in my reservoir.

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Well, my excitement was short-lived. Using tap water in my reservoir, my PH dropped from 5.8 yesterday afternoon (It was 6.1 in the morning) to 5.2 this morning. She drank a bit less than a quart overnight. PPMs dropped slightly to 570 ppm. So I topped off the reservoir with some nutrient...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

@taproot - Thanks for the advice. I've been reading a lot about ProTeck and plan to hit my local hydro shop on Saturday to pick some up. I plan to ask them about my PH issues to see what advice they might have to offer. In your experience, did the ProTek keep the PH stable for a longer period...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Although I agree with you that all of these res changes might have been a bit much, I thought it was a better option than continuing to use water that had so much PH-Up added to it already. I figured that starting over with fresh water would be less stressful.

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Good morning, all! I have an interesting update this morning. Yesterday, I experienced another unexplained drop in my reservoir PH. Yesterday morning, I added my usual 2ml of PH-Up to the reservoir to bring the PH back up to 6.1. But believe it or not, by 4:00 p.m., the PH had dropped to 4.3...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

@rkymtnman - I really do appreciate you trying to help, but I'm having a hard time with your suggestion of dropping my nutrients even lower. The plant is already starving as it is. The plant is quite large, about 2.5 feet in circumference. For the purpose of discussion, what if I eliminated...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

OK, I managed to get my air temperature to stabilize at 70 degrees. I have the reservoir stable at 65 degrees. That's the best I'm gonna be able to do as far as temps go. I completely understand how temps are important. However, I don't see how temps address my original problem of PH...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Good morning, folks. Another day, another PH drop. Yesterday, I did another reservoir change. I waited four hours or so before taking the following readings: Air temp: 67 Water temp: 65.3 Humidity: 32% PH: 5.8 PPM: 550 Today, about 16 hours later, I took the following readings: PH: 4.8...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

@firsttimeARE - Would you mind explaining the math you mentioned (550ppm minus 220ppm starting water)? This is my first time doing a DWC so I am not sure why I need to be concerned with the starting PPM of my water when mixing up my nutrients. Isn't it the final PPM of your nutrient...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

@firsttimeARE - I was feeding at about 1/3 strength based on GH recommendations. Since I just transitioned into flowering, I used the following amounts when I changed out my reservoir this past Sunday: Total Water Volume: 5 gallons GH FloraMicro: 20ml GH FloraGro: 15ml GH FloraMicro: 20ml...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

@firsttimeARE - I am using General Hydroponics Flora trio (Flora-Micro, Flora-Gro, and Flora-Bloom). The tub is a 10-gallon size and I keep it filled with 5 gallons of water. OK, so I went to my supermarket today to buy some fresh water. What a surprise this has turned out to be. The "RO"...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Good morning, folks. Well, the heating pad has helped a lot by stabilizing my temps. Air temps in the cabinet are at 68 to 69 degrees. Reservoir temps are steady at 66.8 degrees. However, as expected, my PH dropped again overnight. 20 hours ago, my PH was 6.1. This morning, it was 5.3...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Here are a few pics from today. She's been growing for about 12 weeks now; I've trained her using the main-lining method and I have eight tops ready to flower. I flipped the lights to 12/12 just two days ago. She is about 22 inches in height above the lid of the reservoir. I've included a...

DWC PH issues: Ph dropping like a rock - Please help

Good morning, folks. I'm back with an update though I don't know if I'm any closer to a solution. Yesterday, I did a reservoir change, cutting the nutrients by about half from the previous change. After several hours of bubbling away, I captured the following readings: - Air Temp: 65 - Water...

Thanks for your response, @rkymtnman . With my PPMs already at 590, wont I starve my plant if I cut the PPMs to around 300?
