    Base of stem is dry

So I wanted to post a little follow up on this. 1 - Most of my plant seems happy so I wonder if it is root rot or not. doesn't that affect the whole plant? 2 - Attached another picture. The dry/discolored spots are very specific. 3 - Today I brought everything into my tent to try to dry it out...

Why doens't everyone have an indoor raised bed?

I plan to grow organic and I have a 2x4 tent. It seems to me that having a 2x4' raised bed inside the tent would give you by far the most root space and also lowest pot height (so you can use more tent space). But people use pots for some reason. Why is that? Raised beds seem so much smarter...

    Base of stem is dry

So mold sounds scary. Do I just carry on and try to ensure they are as healthy as possible? I read a little bit about sclerotina and it says treating really early is the only real solution. My soil has too much drainage if anything but it's damp outside now so I get it. I'm hopefully moving...

Moving plants indoors at wk 3 flowering?

Can I give a little insecticide spray on the way in? or is it too close to flower to be ok? (I have BTK too but I don't see any of them so I guess no point)

Moving plants indoors at wk 3 flowering?

So my plants are in week 3 of flowering outdoors. If I have 6 weeks to go I think they will likely freeze to death. I just got my lights and tent setup inside so can I move them back in to finish flowering? I can keep them on a 12/12 schedule to make sure they don't reveg. Is there anything...

    Base of stem is dry

Hi I am growing outdoors in southern ontario. It's my first grow and I didn't do a great job. I think I'm 3 weeks into flower but some of my stems have a funny thing happening to them. The base of the stem gets super dry and if it's windy they break. It's not a huge issue but I don't know where...

    Too many bud sites?

It's my first grow! YAY! I have tonnes of bud sites on my plants (growing outdoors in southern Ontario). My light levels outdoors aren't great so my plants aren't that large or terribly healthy (~4ft tall, ~3ft diameter, kind of leggy) I had been topping my plants along the way to spread them...

    Saucer size?

For the temporary reservoir/runoff do I just need it like 2" bigger than the pot?

    Saucer size?

Does the saucer size matter underneath your pots in an indoor grow? I know I want them for runoff and a temporary reservoir but maybe they can be too big? I bought some 18" saucers for my 5 gallon pots and they are pretty hilariously large.

Can I use a home office / furnace room for my grow?

Yuppers gas furnace (not mine but same make) I thought the home office thing would be a bigger deal than the furnace. I can put a door on that room if I need to. Or just flower in a tent and veg outside the tent as someone suggested. I will also say my laundry room does not seem linty. My...

Can I use a home office / furnace room for my grow?

oh that's kind of a fun idea. Veg im the room and use a tent when flowering. It like doubles my space and solves the stinkyness problem.

Can I use a home office / furnace room for my grow?

So I was going to setup a small tent in my home office for my new grow. My home office borders on to the laundry room/furnace room with no door currently. I was thinking maybe I should skip the tent and just grow in the room. I could even add a door to the furnace room. Can I just put my...

Bluemat Maxi or normal? or just an Autopot?

Hello I was thinking of buying a blumat system but I have 2 questions about them: Do I want to buy the normal blumat system or the maxi system? The maxi ones are longer for 10"+ deep pots but I don't actually see how they are better. They are also more money :| Is an autopot system easier to...

    Recommended PH test?

I'm following the leafly super soil guide. Which includes 1/3 compost. Compost to my understanding can be all sorts of chaos coming out the other end. So I would still need to test soil pH no? and you're saying if I wanted to I should do it with a spear probe digital sensor. Not runoff/drips...

Need some mentoring please: First time grow for experienced gardener

OK I opened up a separate thread about the insecticide. So what is maybe the more pressing issue? Can I topdress something to make my soil more happy? Maybe just some manure / compost on top or is that just dumb?

Neem oil banned in Canada (it seems). Dormant oil good enough?

Hi it seems like Neem oil is banned in Canada (banned as an insecticide...you can still buy neem and karanja cake). In order to help fend of bad bugs in my outdoor grow does dormant oil cut it? I have piles of that (for spraying my fruit trees). I think dormant oil and horticultural oil are...

    Recommended PH test?

Ok I get it but do you not even recommend testing my soils pH? I make my own compost etc so I thought that would be mandatory. No? Then ide need a spear type soil pH tester? Or you mean if I buy a soil mix then I can close my eyes?

Need some mentoring please: First time grow for experienced gardener

Oh these were the last pots I was going to use. They are 5 gallons. I can't fit anything bigger I could try planting in the ground but I think I'd get less sun where I have a plot. I'll check the sun tomorrow a few times to see if it's a reasonable move. OK I can grab some general insecticide...

    Recommended PH test?

I can get on board with not measuring water PH because it kind of makes sense and I like having to do less. Then you would need to measure your soil PH (monthly??). I was taught by my grandpapy to test the runoff but you would use the drips with a soil sample or PH pen of the runoff? Or is a...

    Recommended PH test?

Hmmm yours seems to move a lot as it goes through 5-7 PH. Mine are all shades of green and I think piss yellow is 3 or 4 PH. Maybe I just need a smaller range.
