I usually pull until the vacuum pump sound matches the sound it makes when its pulling against a closed ball valve. why does stopping or flipping effect it? I do like winterizing and have done it before a few times (one of the time not making shatter either)... but im not a fan of losing 10%...

I use a griddle with a temp probe on it, its been very accurate..just me fiddling with the dial is what messed me. It seems that 110F doesnt keep it soft enough but im probably just being too impatient. ill def try it at a lower heat.

and im not going for wax... thats easy.. just let it sit. its the shatter ive been having a hard time getting recently for some reason, ill try a lower temp.

hmm interesting. ill have to try to drop the temps a little bit. I find at 110F its barely enough heat to keep the oil liquidized enough to allow the bubbling to keep going.

Hey guys, maybe I havnt been making enough lately, or making large batches so im starting to forget my own tricks and secrets, but for the last few batches I havnt been able to get that rock hard shatter that I used to get. wtf am I doing wrong?? 120F in the vac for 1 hour, 6 hour, 12 hours...

yeah I think with butane you cant necessarily over rinse, but ive never done a thermos soak or anything like that with dry ice so im not too sure. also, trying to not capture waxes on the first run like that I would say is very very hard to do, and very inefficient. you would be better off...

yeah winterizing definitely kills the taste ill agree with you there. no doubt that a wax has potential to be pretty tasty (I personally rarely see it) but id bet that 90% of the time if the wax was pretty tasty.. then the shatter form if it would be even better, no more heat then necessary is...
