You'll do just fine with what you have. If you expand, I'd just opt for adding on the solar storm uints to expand your space rather than buy another one of the big kahunas... i.e., 400 or 800 SS. Good luck.
When it comes down to it, your best way to know what you're going to yield from a unit is grams per watt. If you have a reference from the past of what your grams per watt are from your growing style, just multiply that by how many watt unit you're going to get. Not how many watts the unit says...
Don't do it. You're going to be throwing money down the tubes. The unit will burn out and that Chinese company will want nothing to do with you. THink of it this way. Spend $100 now and $300 in a year or just spend $300 now and get a unit that works amazingly and comes with a 2+ year warranty...
I talked George at CLW and he increased the warranty to 3 years, not decreased it. When they came out they had 2 year warranties, now all units have 3 yr.
I think I found both of those LEDs for those interested. I've never heard of these AF600's though. I'm now pretty intrigued by the idea of just covering a ceiling diodes. That would be the sickest grow room. It would be like a tanning bed for your plants
Lumigrow 650...
I'm thinking California Light Works or maybe Lumigrow, but I wanted to see if people have experience with others I may have not heard of and/or have tested LEDs side by side that do better than the ones I mentioned.
No matter whether you go with HID or LED you're approximately going to get the same grams per watt. Usually HID costs less, but some believe that in the long run you save with LEDs because of their life span.

I used to use digilux. looks like horti is my new go-to. The more info the betttter. :bigjoint:
Yeah, I want to easily keep my ballasts off the floor (afraid of water damage) without hanging my ballasts on the wall worrying about them ripping off the drywall. I think I might have to be an early adopter on this one and just go for it!
I saw this one before: http://www.monstergardens.com/grow-lighting/digital-ballasts/ballast-by-wattage/1000-watt.html?page=shop.product_details&category_id=151&flypage=flypage-vmshopgreen.tpl&product_id=1706
Haven't heard any reviews/people using them, but this one just came out, which is less...
I take any and all information I can get, but it's true: the true test is seeing how well plants like 'em! I just like seeing this because every LED manufacturer I've spoken to has told me that their light is the best. I can't trust anything except experience, hard numbers, and journals (most of...
I use a 2' 2 bulb T5 over my cloning are. Have it about 6 inches above the 7" dome I'm using. Works like a charm. I use something like this: http://images.hayneedle.com/mgen/master:HDR352.jpg?is=200,200,0xffffff
I really want to start putting my own LEDs together like this. Honestly, this has inspired me to maybe thing about doing this for my next setup. Now....time to research!

edit:looks like they're having a sale till the 4th too for anyone who's interested....
These meters are expensive, but this is what it's all about: http://sunlightsupply.com/p-14301-par-meter-with-integrated-or-remote-sensor.aspx. measures directly from 400 to 700 nanometers. Some will say that this measures the green spectrum between 500 and 600 nanometers, but when you're using...
This grow journal is great. I'm really looking into LED's at the moment and was thinking about going for California Light Works Solar Flare 200w unit. I like the ability to move these around more and set your footprint better though. Maybe I'll just get two of these instead! FYI, I was going to...
I don't know if you ended picking one up, but I know someone using the bloom booster for a 3x3 flower and I'm thinking about getting one to supplement my 600 HPS. His plants looks so healthy I just feel like the dialed-in spectrum in addition to my 600 HPS will do wonders. I found one here that...
Saw they didn't mention California Light Works LED's on the main post. They're definitely an up and coming company in the LED industry. My friend uses one with good enough results for me to consider trying another grow next to my 600w HIDs. Company: http://californialightworks.com/
Yeah, I thought it was pretty dope too. They're going to do a whole bunch of tests with that PAR meter. I was in their retail store today and they were talking about doing a 1000w bulb comparison with Digilux HPS, Hortilux HPS, and Hortilux Dual Arc bulb. I really want to see that one.
