Thanks lads

Growing in DWC so they’re in root riot plugs atm. It’s been under light for about 10-11 hours at this point.

After losing 4 seeds last time round, this time I placed my seeds under light as soon as I saw them at the top of the root root. However, I think one of them is growing upside down. At this point, since they’ve been under light for about 12 hours, if it is the root, it will be damamged won’t it?

2x240w QB on lowest setting, 4ft from plant... that'll be okay right?

It wasn't enough light - I hadn't had them on at all at this point :facepalm: @rkymtnman I'll see how it fares now the lights are on. If it's still wonky in 24hrs I'll try and do what you've said.

I'm getting concerned now

UPDATE: Everything seems to be going well - though I'm unsure about the one in the back right corner - it seems to be curled up. It's not the same one as the one above which sprouted fine. Any ideas?

Update My seeds have started to germinate! Should I be concerned about them growing the wrong way or being exposed to too much light? As you can see, the back left seed has the seed casing out on top. Is this normal?

UPDATE: Germinated my 4 seeds last night - direct to root riots (which were soaked for 24hrs in deionized water). The seeds are currently sat in the unlit tent - temps/humidity have fluctuated for differing reasons (RH mostly) but it's currently sitting at 22c and 72-80+% humidity with the...

And then transplant them to my propagation dome and water until the roots get longer?

Thanks. I have done mate. I've been Googling stuff since I first started this thing! There's a million and one people out there promoting their own "100% germination method!" and I just wanted to see what people here do.

Okay, so I have everything I need now and I am ready to germinate. Should I germinate under my lights though, or will somewhere in the house do? I have a propagation dome but no heat mat. It's too big to put on top of my modem which is in a drawer somewhere...

Hey man. My PPM is below 1. Comes up as “0072” on the meter and 0144 EC (0.144). pH is about 7.5-8.

Can I just top feed using a jug? I know there are fancy methods of top feeding but I can literally just add water/nutes right?

I have 2x22 gallon reservoirs so I'd need at least 15 gallons per reservoir! Apparently my nutes (maxibloom) will reduce the pH significantly - I'll run some tests when it arrives. I'm more concerned about my water temps tbh. Really don't want to get a chiller so will have to use frozen bottles.

My tap water has the following attributes (using the Hanna scale): EC - 0.144 PPM - 0.072 pH - around 8 (using drops and scale). I know the pH will need to drop (and I believe my nutes will do this significantly) but are the EC/PPM too high?
