    Bag-seed CFL noob soil grow.

80% soil, 20% perlite methinks. With an inch of perlite at the bottom for root aeration. Are you going to use the hps for flowering? I've only heard of high wattage hps lights so I wonder what a 50 watt will be like. Get those CFLs closer to your plants. Within 1-3 inches. Light decays rapidly...

thelittletruck's first grow - 3 WW IN SOIL w/ CFLS

It is 3 days since the first sprout. The CFLs are left on 24/7. Still 1 above each plant w/ soda can reflectors :D. My lights aren't directly above a few of the plants, so I think i will need to get another Y splitter to stretch a bit more over the plant. I am also thinking of getting some more...

Hello, this is my first grow. I'm growing 3 white widow seeds ordered from nirvana under CFLS. I currently have 5 40 watt cfls and 3 23 watt cfls that I am going to use. I posted some pic of my grow setup below. Seedlings were germinated after 3 days of soaking in a paper towel. Then they...

    Lighting help

Take an extension cord and snip off the female end (where you plug other things into). Now you are left with a plug and a cord. Split the wires from eachother at the end of the cord (where you snipped off the female end). Then strip about 1 inch of the plastic off of each wire (you can use...

    Lighting help

You need a socket to plug the y splitters in. You can buy sockets with a plug on the other side at Lowes or Home Depot, or you can buy an actual socket and wire it yourself with an extension cord (I've seen em at Walmart - of course Lowes/Home Depot will always have stuff). Wiring in a socket is...

    Lighting help

Read the CFL section on lighting proximity. The ticket with CFLs is LOTS OF BULBS SURROUNDING THE PLANTS. Do read the CFL section. ;-)

    CFL questions

CFLs are only good if you keep em within a few inches from the plants. So you'd have to adjust them every day or two to keep em at a good distance. But doing that say with 18 plants (assuming you'd have at least 3 bulbs per plant) sounds like a lot of work to me :O

    Global Warming My Ass

Global Warming is a completely natural phenomenon. On Earth, greenhouse gases have kept the planet a good deal warmer than it would have been w/o. Global Warming is cyclic. When there is too much C02 in the atmosphere, it gets warmer and more H20 becomes gaseous and sits as water vapor in the...
