after browsing some o the forums it's believed that a slight negative pressure is better because it helps keeps a steady stream off fresh cool air coming in and stale hot air going out and doesn't let the hot air "sit" for to long.

in a two wire scenario the black is always the hot i.e negative and the others are all positive i know this from experience so trust when i say black burns and white zapps lol

yep the white wire is the positive wire. usually it's safe to assume that if they're are two wires and one is black the other is positive. i've seen blue/black, red/black, and white/black and so far they all check out. hope this helps

chiming in on the door issue i say just leave the Velcro adding any hinges or anything else would only draw attention to it .plus velcro is cheap enough to replace when neccessary and should be strong enough to support the "door" with some panda plastic over the inside or even just some card...
