    That's the thing. I'm using miracle grow potting soil. Which is asking for trouble. Miracle grow is notorious for having hotspots with nutes.     Is it normal for the first set of oval leaves to die off? My plants are a little less than three weeks old, and the little oval leaves are dying. I do however have about three nodes on each. Also what is the optimum temp for the seedlings?

    So it does need to be broken down in order for it to be suitible for the plant. I would guess brewed coffee could be mixed with rain water in a bucket and left to breakdown outside.

    I've heard that coffee is a good source of nitrogen. Many people suggest you use it in when making compost. But, if my plants are nitrogen deficent would it be cool to use leftover brewed coffee as a liquid fertilizer to cure the deficiency, or would that not be suitible as in is it not in the...
