Myself personally i would start to flower now depending on your height/space restrictions as it will probably double or treble in height during flower but thats entirely up to you happy growing its looking good.

Cheers nice thought on the pollen but wont that risk pollinating other plants. i meen even if i'm careful pollen can get every where so might separate it and force back to veg and wait till the others are done.:bigjoint:

I think that i have male and female but want to be 100% does anybody know how long it is before a male is ready to pollinate? As i wanna give them a couple more days to make sure. I'm just into early stages of 12/12 (9days) all comments welcome.

Why do you want the roots to spread to the top of the soil i presumed roots grew better down under the soil but maybe i'm wrong.
