    i used the smaller one( 20mm thickness) to cool a cxa 2540 running at 49w and had issues sink temp was 67 then the chips cooked as per "fried egg"thread dunno if it was a TIM issue but they def got hot

    yup i have one- but the chip holder i used covered the point to check tj so i have to go off the heatsinsk temp just wodering if anyone has experience or can check for me ive got replacement chips and am adding a fan to the 400g alu heatsinsks but agian cannot test on the chip bcause of the holder

    on average for passive cooling how much hotter is the chips vs the sink i remember reading on the reef forums a few years bacj it was like 40c so recently i cooked 2 cxa2540s the sink was 67c wondering how hot the chips was and if it was the thermal interface that caused them to cook......

    i cooked 2 cxa 2540s recently- havnt checked the back yet but the front is exactly the same- half the diodes( 2 centre rows) failed and now the light comes on only for a few seconds- it blinks so to say i used a thermal pad as a TIM( i know i know ) but actually my heatsink was getting up to...
